What is the Bible?
The Bible records what God has done in the world and his will for all creation. The writing of the "Bible" has gone through sixteen centuries and is the crystallization of more than forty human authors. This is quite an astonishing collection of 66 books in very different styles that contain God's message to us.

This compilation booklet contains a surprising variety of literary styles. There are many stories in the text, from the lives, battles and journeys of good and bad people, to the life of Jesus and the activities of the early church. The Bible comes to us in narrative and dialogue, proverb and parable, song and parable, history and prophecy.
Records in the Bible are generally not written down as they occurred. On the contrary, the records in the "Bible" have been repeatedly told by later generations, handed down over the years, and finally written down. However, the same themes can be found throughout the book. In addition to the diversity, there is also a remarkable unity throughout the book.

So what is the Bible? Well, in addition to all of the above, the Bible is:

Your guide to living life to the fullest. It provides a road map for our bumpy life journey. Or to put it another way, the Bible is an anchor in our voyage across the ocean of life.

A treasure trove of great stories for kids and adults. Remember Noah and the Ark? Joseph's colorful coat? Daniel in the lions' den? Jonah and fish? Parables of Jesus? These stories focus on the successes and failures of ordinary people.

Distressed refuge. People in pain, people suffering, people in prison, people in mourning have told how reading the Bible has given them strength in times of despair.

The Bible is full of life wisdom and helps us know ourselves. We are not meaningless robots, but great creations of God who loves us and gives us meaning and destiny in our lives.

The Bible is a sourcebook for everyday life. In the "Bible", we can not only find the standards of behavior, the guidelines for distinguishing right from wrong, but also the rules of survival to help us settle down in a complex society.
